Couples Therapy in Richmond, Virginia

Shift from blame
to shared resolution

Does this sound like you?

Hard conversations are often infused with hurtful criticism and emotional shut downs.

Both you and your partner feel unheard, unseen, and misunderstood.

You or your partner have difficulty staying present with who you are as a couple today, often bringing in “old stuff” from past relationships.

You are not alone.

Let’s talk about…

Couples Therapy

Increase understanding of self and partner by exploring how past experiences show up today and cause problems. Learn to self-soothe and regulate your own emotions which will help both you and your partner feel safer during hard conversations. Understand your own triggers, and your partner’s triggers. Learn to receive your partner’s point of view, and express your own needs too.

Discover what you and your partner need to feel safe and supported.

How does it work?

Step 1: Free Consultation Call

We begin with a complimentary consultation call to determine if I would be a suitable fit to assist you in achieving your therapeutic goals.

Step 2: 90-Minute Intake Appointment for Your First Session

During this appointment, we gather information and delve into present difficulties, individual history, background, family life, and relationship history. This initial session allows me to gain a comprehensive understanding of who you are as a couple, laying the foundation for our work together.

Step 3: 60-Minute Sessions

Subsequently, sessions will be 60 minutes in duration, continuing until we mutually agree that it is the appropriate time to conclude. Initially, most clients opt for weekly sessions to foster momentum in our work and establish rapport and trust.
