Individual Therapy in Richmond, Virginia
Go from ashamed
to empowered.
Does this sound like you?
You’re drinking or using drugs too much that you feel ashamed and guilty the next day, wondering what you said or did.
On the outside you are successful and hard-working, on the inside you feel like a complete mess and an imposter.
You feel resentful of others, and taken advantage of. You say yes to things when you really want to say no.
You are not alone.
Let’s talk about…
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy can help you unpack barriers to letting yourself be seen, heard and known, so your relationships and your life feel more true and authentic to the real you.
How does it work?
Step 1: Free Consultation Call
We begin with a complimentary consultation call to determine if I would be a suitable fit to assist you in achieving your therapeutic goals.
Step 2: 90-Minute Intake Appointment for Your First Session
During this appointment, we gather information and delve into present difficulties, personal history, background, family life, and relationship history. This initial session allows me to gain a comprehensive understanding of who you are, laying the foundation for our work together.
Step 3: 60-Minute Sessions
Subsequently, sessions will be 60 minutes in duration, continuing until we mutually agree that it is the appropriate time to conclude. Initially, most clients opt for weekly sessions to foster momentum in our work and establish rapport and trust.

Insurance
I am an “out of network” provider, meaning that I am not in network with any insurance companies. I can provide documentation, a “superbill”, to you if you are seeking insurance reimbursement. I’m Alex, a licensed psychotherapist in Richmond, VA.
I strive to create a safe space to explore the messy, complicated, shadowy, parts of human existence.
After five years practicing as a licensed therapist, with a total of 13 years providing supportive services for victims/survivors of trauma, I've crafted an approach that's both warm and direct. Your voice matters deeply to me, and I'm here to gently guide you through any areas of struggle. My practice often incorporates mindfulness and meditation techniques, encouraging clients to slow down and reconnect with their emotions and physical sensations.
Together, we'll uncover how past experiences shape your current challenges, while simultaneously celebrating and nurturing the strengths you already possess to support your journey towards growth and healing.
